Day 3

Wednesday

TC1 & TC2

Today, TC1 and TC2 will have to work together. You have to film a video and edit it before the end of the day. The theme? An Irish mythological story. You will be in sub-teams. For example: in the Munster Team, the TC1s in the Harp sub-team will film with the TC2s of the same sub-team.

You will draw lots to get the mythological story you have to recreate. Be aware that another group will have the same story as you! You will have to be original to stand out.

8:30– In the morning, we will explain the stories and you can prepare your scripts and think about the location. (Please note that the set, costumes, props and humor will be taken into account in the scoring so feel free to use some).

You have the day to film AND edit so get organised! The video should be a minimum of 1.30 minutes and a maximum of 5 minutes long. You must include the half of the TC1 and the half of the TC2 at least. If not, you’ll lose points!

The dialog must be in English! You can do several small scenes.

Moreover, it’s not an obligation to include the whole story but we need to understand which story it is. At the beginning of your video, please put the name of your story and Englishweek 2023. At the end of it, your names should appear as end credits.

17:30– The video must be returned to us on Wednesday on a USB key.

Please name your file: Group_subgroup

For instance: TeamMunster_Harp

We will be waiting for you in the cafeteria.

Day 4

Thursday

TC1

8:30am – You are a young entrepreneur and you want to open a pub in Ireland. Introduce your pub, what is innovative about it?  You need to think about the marketing mix you will deploy for your pub. On a sheet of paper, write down the 4Ps. Your strategy must be formidable because there is a lot of competition on the market!

TC2

8:30am – You are working in a travel agency called “Irish Adventures.” Your boss has just informed you that the company is launching a new campaign to promote a special offer for a trip to any destination in Ireland. Your boss has tasked you and your team to create a poster to advertise the special offer. You must decide what the special offer is.

Your boss has also requested you to include the face of someone in your group on the poster. It must be a JPEG file format.

Your goal is to create a poster that stands out, is eye-catching and entices customers to book the trip.

Good luck!

TC1

2pm – This afternoon, the TC2s will be able to attend the play prepared by the TC1s, Death on the Nile. Two teams will compete, the Agatha team and the Christie team. Which team will give the best representation of the play?
